ABOUT THIS PROJECT

China Power Archive

China Power Archive is a long-term personal research and organising project. It observes, preserves, compares and tries to understand historical, political, social and international material related to modern China.

What the project collects

Historical material

Events, context and records that help readers locate questions in time.

Public records

Public documents, media reports, video, audio and other traceable material.

Claims and interpretations

Public claims, research notes and competing interpretations, with their boundaries stated where possible.

How material is handled

The project tries to keep facts, sources, public claims, unverified material and personal analysis separate. Material is not treated as a final conclusion merely because it is preserved or linked here.

Read Method for the labels, Sources for provenance, and Documents for material preserved or registered by the project.

Scope and reading principle

The archive is built over time. Its current contents are not a complete history of China, nor a final conclusion about any topic.

The purpose is not to force every source into one conclusion, but to preserve material, compare accounts and make the reasoning process visible.
